So I'm going to cover Turbo lifts here. In Minecraft, an effect was discovered where if one was to walk into a block of water that is one square higher than that of the block they were standing on, they would be bumped up to the level of the water very quickly. This only works when facing north or south! For those of you who can't find north or south, its the direction inline with the motion of the clouds in the sky.
The design I'm going to show you comes from Entity, of the Coldfront network, who modified the original design to make it smaller and more compact. The footprint of this design is 4x3.
We start with the base, a 4x3 rectangle, with one block missing near the front middle. And on top of that, we make a U shape leaving the front open, and closing the back.
Next, we take a ladder, and we place it on the second level on one of the front blocks, so that it is on the inside of the structure.
The third step is to take water, either by using a water block, or a bucket of water, and filling the back most inside space.
The ladder will prevent the water from flowing out of the structure, as well as provide double function to slow you down as you descend. The final step is to repeat the first three steps for as high as you wish to go!
In this picture, the repeated steps are in different material blocks to distinguish between them. Remember! This ONLY works if you are facing north or south! (ie inline with the direction of cloud movement)
More cool stuff to come!

ReplyDeletenever got into it. Hate those facebook games
ReplyDeleteHonestly one of my favorite games ever. It's waaaaay too addicting.
ReplyDeleteThis design, assuming its facing north to south, or vice versa, will cause the player to be accelerated quickly straight upwards, faster than a ladder normally would allow.
ReplyDeleteThat north or south trick is pretty neat. I never noticed that.
ReplyDeleteThat game seems so weird yet interesting at the same time. I'm on the fence about whether I should play it or not.
